Kathy Edwards, the Managing Designer for Cottages and Castles, has been in the real
estate industry since 1976. As Managing Director of the New Homes Division of a prominent
real estate firm for 12 years, Kathy has been actively involved in the selection of design and
architectural concepts for many large new home subdivisions, as well as in-fill projects
through the greater Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange County areas. From concept to
execution, design has been instrumental in the success of new home projects offered
through the builders and banks she has represented.
Her expertise began at an early age through remodelling homes for resale throughout the
San Fernando Valley area, including Lake Encino, Bell Canyon, Northridge, Woodland Hills,
Agoura, Camarillo and Universal City; as well as West Hollywood and Fountain Valley.
A successful real estate agent and later General Manager of a large real estate firm
eventually led to increased creative pursuits; first through marketing and advertising as the
SVP of Marketing for two publicly traded companies, and later as an Interior Designer.
Cottages and Castles is an extension of Kathy’s creative journey through design, where
recently the art of home staging has been added to her list of value-added services. An HSR
Certified Home Stager as well as graduate classes through UCLA in Interior Design and
Architecture add depth to her creative talents.
Terry Cunniff, design coordinator, comes to Cottages and Castles with a background in
office administration, Terry has been instrumental in the success of the companies she has
represented. Terry has applied her expertise in organization, purchasing and merchandising
to both design and staging preparation and execution.
Penny Aarons, design coordinator, has brought a strong background from the building
industry and is a powerhouse in her knowledge of architectural residential and commercial
design.
